Educational Cloud is a concept that has embarked on this expanding journey hand in hand with technology. Proof of this fact is the proliferation of educational blogs designed by teaching staff that day by day set the pace in the use of ICTs in the organization and methodologies that are applied in the classroom.

Now, with a considerable level of maturity in this evolution, this very disruptive transformation is beginning to reach the deepest layers of the School. It is affecting the organization, management processes, internal communication, marketing, student search, talent management, etc. Schools, institutes and universities have realized that working in digital environments entails enormous advantages that allow them to offer a more efficient and personalized service to their users.

We are at a time where we are able to process large amounts of data with relative ease . Computer solutions are beginning to come out that allow centers to process data and statistics from the perspective of big data and  Business Intelligence  for strategic decision making. But, in what sense does all this benefit or affect the school? This is where its usefulness is still not clear, since the implementation is relatively new.

Educational Cloud Data

According to the market research company Research and Markets, it has published a new report on the cloud, this time focused on the education sector. It indicates that this market segment is advancing at a good pace and it is estimated that it will have a compound annual growth rate of 26.13% until 2021 .

Through the report they highlight the role of eLearning in the entire process to promote this growth. Educational organizations have complex hardware and software systems with a common feature: cloud computing or educational cloud.

What began with an eLearning platform has evolved into a server environment (data, applications, services, etc.) that allow you to connect with the Institution from anywhere in the world.

Educational institutions  that include  cloud computing  have the opportunity to benefit from economies of scale. Reducing cost and administrative management with a cloud model helps improve your processes. These savings can be used in other areas and/or departments, being able to offer other experiences to the users of your organization. As schools carry out their digital transformation, the importance of the Educational Cloud will be more evident and clear.

Advantages of Cloud Computing

  • Significant savings in the production and distribution of materials
  • A more individualized teaching. Big data and the entire analysis architecture allow adapting the offer, the content and even inferring what is most appropriate according to the talent of each student
  • It allows the creation of cooperative and collaborative environments between all the actors of the institution
  • It improves efficiency and optimizes the work of teachers by avoiding archaic administrative and/or management processes that slow down the availability of sources and resources
  • It promotes a more inclusive and social vision of the school. Additionally, it makes it possible to bring external agents closer to the educational environment (fathers, mothers, companies, local institutions, etc.).
